Short projects fade. In Western Kenya, water, schooling, women's income and child protection rise and fall together. This brief explains why Vision Giver Project seeks partners who fund connected work, stay long enough to measure results and hold us to clear accountability.
The problem with isolated giving
A borehole without education support can still leave girls late for class. A scholarship without livelihood support can still collapse when a mother loses her market week. A protection dialogue without practical household support can leave caregivers unable to act on what they learn.
- Siaya research among out-of-school girls shows dropout driven jointly by pregnancy/marriage/childcare and financial barriers, not one cause alone. See BMJ Public Health.
- County climate planning in Siaya documents incomplete improved-water access and long collection distances that fall heavily on women and girls. See the Siaya County Climate Change Action Plan.
- Kakamega research and policy notes show women carrying much of farming and food work while facing climate, credit and market constraints. See Sustainability (2021) and the Kakamega technical policy brief.
This brief uses regional evidence to explain partnership logic. Specific delivery numbers live in each thematic field insight and in budget packs available on request.
